The English and Scots also created the game of rugby. Water polo evolved from playing rugby in rivers and lakes to add an extra challenge. Then in 1870 the offical rules of water polo were made by the London Swimming Club. Interestingly enough the word Polo comes from the Indian word pulu wich means ball. Polo (played on horses) and water polo have nothing to do with each other except for the word Polo (also meaning ball). Hope that was helpfull.

I’m wondering why the Scots and Pommys (English) create water polo. Any thoughts??
