Oregon’s high school graduation rate ranks second to last in the United States at 69%. That’s up one percentage since last year. Unfortunately, Oregon is considered to be at the “national basement,” of high school graduation rates at 68%. Nevada ranks last at 62%. Iowa holds the highest rate in the country at 88%. Close behind at 87% is Vermont.
Ashland High School’s graduation rate is much better than Oregon’s overall average graduation rate. AHS’s rate is at 83%! In 2013, 235 students graduated from AHS, and 30 dropped out. Ashland High School should be proud of all the hard work students have put into school and all they’ve accomplished. AHS has maintained a high graduation rate despite Oregon’s reputation for being in the “national basement.” Of graduation rates.
