Ashland High School offers an opportunity to incoming freshpeople unique to Ashland, Fresh Start. This two day summer retreat takes place at a retreat center in the Greensprings. There are three different sessions of this retreat where incoming students are divided into their advisory classes.

Within these groups students participate in problem solving and team building activities such as Piranha River and Yurt Circle. There is also an opportunity for the incoming 9th graders to showcase their talents at an Open Mic. At the end of the night, students are given a chance to ask their questions about high school and life and obtain answers from their peers and teachers.

Fresh Start relies heavily on student participation in order to provide advice and counseling to the incoming students. On Thursday, April 23, during lunch there will be a meeting in the Art Room, TH-215, for sophomore and juniors interested in being counselors for the Summer of 2015 sessions. If interested please attend this meeting and fill out an application due by May 1.

Applications are available online here. Please fill out the Google Form as well as the free response section (link below the form).
