Gaines is a 16-year-old junior at Ashland High School. Gaines joined Rogue News because of influence through his friends and is excited to see where this journey takes them. In his free time, they enjoy spending times with friends through video games and writing sci-fi fantasy horror, along with drawing and writing. Gaines attended elementary schools all across the pacific northwest and graduated from Ashland Middle School on the hall of Manzanita. Writing has been a hobby of Gaines since they were a kid and have influenced him through out his life.

As Covid-19 hit the Rogue Valley it created a wedge between Gaines and getting the education needed. As the issue of poor Wi-Fi connection caused their year of learning to be a roller coaster, as the impact of the virus has affected his education. Gaines has two younger siblings Erin (14) and Lily (12), Gaines has a good relationship with their siblings, in a sibling manner where it is described as just fine. When asked about his favorite T.V show they answered with Stranger Things a show that he is currently watching with his friends.  Gaines’ plans after high school consists of video game design, without the interest of college the ideas of video games can fuel them into that career. However, if they were to go to college their idea of a career would be to pursue becoming a kindergarten teacher. As the new year roles in they are interested to see where this class will take them and how it could influence the career they can see themselves taking in the future.
