On Thursday May 10th, Race car builder Dan Buckley brought a Drift Car, owned by Matt Coffman, to the Ashland High School Campus, scheduled by Bow Debey, owner of Siskiyou Imports Center. The Mechanics II class stood in awe of the car, a 1992 Nissan 240SX powered by a 500 horsepower Corvette engine, while listening to Buckley talk about experiences as a race car builder and the technology found in drift car design. To a bystander (and the photographer), the car seemed no different, but the students of the Mechanics II class were all to happy to share the details of what was apparently an awe-inspiring engine.
