Lucas Searcy interns at Ashland Community Hospital

The definition of internship is a method of on the job training for white-collar and professional careers. At Ashland High School, there is a wonderful internship program run by Ms. Hafner. The internships can last anywhere from a couple of months to a whole year.  One could earn a minimum of 75 hours of community service and three elective credits per internship. There is no age limit and no fee. Some of the already existing internships are at :

  • Ashland Community Hospital
  • The Armory (live musical production)
  • The Roasting Company
  • Rogue Valley Farm to Schools
  • Photography for the Newspaper
  • Graphic/Web Design Companies
  • Interior/Fashion Design Companies
  • Tech Companies

To intern someplace not on this list, talk to Hafner and she can help make connections with the business owner. Participating in an internship is imperative to a high schooler’s success because it looks great on a resumé, it gives one experience, and creates future jobs.

Contact Ms. Hafner at : [email protected] or see her on red days in the foods room and white days in room 213 in the Library Building.
