Global Citizen Corps, GCC, is a worldwide community of kids who have the passion to try and make the world a better place. Ashland High School is lucky enough to have a branch of this wonderful organization on its campus. As an extension of Mercy Corps, GCC focuses on seven main issues: climate change, conflict, education, global health, human rights, hunger, and water. Each of the seven issues has its own Global Action Day. On these days, GCC will have events and other projects focused on helping the specific issue. GCC believes that if people focus their innovation and problem solving skills on these problems, they will be able to make the world a better place.
GCC meets every Wednesday at lunch to discuss the projects they have in play. Anyone can pitch ideas that they think will help out the community or the club can set its sights to the world. Just remember, Action+Awareness=IMPACT!
