After receiving several feet of snow in the last few weeks Mt. Ashland opened their run to the public on December 3. This was a refreshing twist for skiers in Ashland, since last year the resort didn’t receive enough snow to open until late December. Thanks to several heavy snow storms, the mountain now has thorough coverage on the trails and in the trees. Skiers were even able to enjoy a good eight inches of soft, fluffy powder on opening day, which stayed untouched throughout opening weekend in certain tree areas. If opening weekend was any indication of the season to come, the skiers of Ashland can look forward to good coverage and even better powder.
