Grizz Boys Thrash Wolverines in First Round Playoff Win

Senior midfielder Neil Presicci scored two goals, including a 30-yard bomb just before the end of the first half, that gave the Ashland High School soccer team a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a 7-0 win over Willamette in their class 5A second round play-in match Saturday at Ashland Middle School. The win advances the grizzlies to the 16-team state tournament, which begins Tuesday when the Grizzlies play Mountain View here in Ashland. Also contributing to the Grizzlies playoff victory on Saturday were Senior Chris Landt, and Juniors Leland Sanchez and Brenton Wileman, with impressive goals of their own.
