This past weekend, 23 junior rowers arrived at Dexter in Lowell, OR to compete with 8 other teams in the Covered Bridge Regatta. The spring rowing season kicked off training in March, and now looks towards their 2011 goals at the Junior Regional Competition in Vancouver this coming May. Coach Corrine Lombardi says, “We found or strengths and we found our weaknesses… now it is a matter of [our team] building muscle and getting stronger.”
Juniors, along with the masters of the ARC, rowed singles, doubles and quads in the April 9 and April 10 events. The top races of the weekend included co-captain Tyler Sell in his single, and girls doubles rowed by seniors Gabby Carini and Kyla Damman, as well as co-captain Grace Riley-Adams and junior co-captain Emma Wells.
