This October 15 the Ashland Cross Country team attended the Northwest Concordia/Adidas Cross Country Classic, one of the biggest meets on the west coast. Around 40 to 50 teams in the high school division showed up for the event that took place in Fern Hill Park, Portland. The meet included high schools from Alaska, Idaho, California and of course, Oregon. The Grizzlies decided to let the JV team participate in the Varsity Invitational since their hard work had proved them worthy, while the formal Varsity team participated in the Elite Varsity category. The best timings of the Grizzlies in the meet were given by Dana Greenblatt that represented Ashland in the Elite Varsity category with 19:35 (5K), Megan Ganim had a time of 20:25 (5K) on the Varsity Invitational. Madeline Chavez and Andrea Scherrer also largely improved on their personal records during the meet. The Cross Country team did a fine job during this meet, however, they still plan to work harder to improve their rankings.
